Nearly two months since I started by low carb routine to shift the stone and a half that I put on in late 2014. After a quite fantastic start, where I lost a stone and a bit in the first month, I’ve hit that dreaded plateau, and I’ve been here for 3 weeks. Deeply frustrating and unsatisfying I have to say. January was fine – I reduced my total net carbs to 30g per day, cut out booze and coffee, and stuck to this religously. And with a few days of intermittent fasting here and there, it worked a treat. Until it all tailed off. I’ve tried introducing a cheat day last Saturday but hasn’t done anything. I haven’t exercised much (then again, I didn’t at all when I lost my original weight three years ago), so perhaps if I do, it might kick start my metabolism. But will keep at it – need to lose another half a stone or so, so looking at another month at least I think of hardcore low carb.
